Despite what you might have read on the BBC this week, we are a thriving business. Unfortunately, a recent article has taken a lot of what was said out of context and painted a picture that the future of our business as most uncertain. This is not the case. Growing food and providing food has been the raison d’etre of Kingfisher throughout the business’s history. Recently while walking back from the watercress beds with freshly harvested watercress, I was struck by how lucky we are. It is hard work, but a privilege to follow in the footsteps of my parents and generations before, being a custodian of a tiny piece of the Surrey Hills, nurturing a super food, taking an active role in this community and giving access to delicious, good food. Thank you for all the messages of concern. It is always lovely to hear how much everyone values and cherishes our business.
